So last night after all the fun my housemates and I had, I sat down at the computer and started listening to a lecture on infertility.
Then it came. That awful pain in my left chest. My left arm got all tingly and before I knew it, my fingers were icy cold. I just sat and waited for the pain to go away but the pain was different from the last time. It wasn't sharp, it wasn't short. It was long and it ached.
My housemates came into my room and chatted with me, made me a mug of hot Milo and soon, the pain was bearable.
I got up this morning and my chest-shoulder region aches so bad.
I know it's not an infarction and it's not angina. I'm hoping its some muscular thing or nerve entrapment but I don't know if it happens along this region.
My heart rate was 88bpm, just me sitting on the floor. I checked my heart sounds this morning and both S1 and S2 were present and normal, regular and strong.
I have an appointment with the uni medical centre at 840am tomorrow morning. I hope I get up in time. They did not have any appointments today, only for urgent cases. I am thinking that what they mean by urgent is...if you are feeling unwell and need a medical certificate as you have a test today. If you dont have a test and you can just sit at home and afford to not get into trouble in uni, then youre not an urgent case. I almost said Alright, no thanks I wont have the 840am appointment but my auto mouth said yes.
I just feel so reluctant because when Im there, i will not be having these pains and they will probably just put everything down to stress. If youre in uni, and you have pains that arent supposed to be happening, youre either stressed or depressed. I hate stereotypes.
Last night I was scared to go to sleep because I was afraid that I might fall unconscious in bed and no one will know. Do my housemates know CPR? Lol. But, death doesnt discriminate and I could die right now while typing this.
What will I be remembered for? My pranks? My crankiness? My serious face? My ultra lame jokes? My love for chocolates?
I hope it's something good though.

Of fish and chips and blue polka dots
Today I had dinner with my housemates while watching a scary movie. It was fun but the whole time, I was holding onto my phone expecting a call that never came. After that, we spent about a good 15 minutes playing pranks on each other. They were even ready with a camera, trying to record my spooked out reaction but I was all cool.
Today our stove+ oven came. Someone still has to come fix it because it was just the delivery guy who came. Tomorrow, maybe...we can use them.
Today I was promised lunch and dinner. I ate instant noodles for lunch and thank Allah for wonderful housemates who spent dinner with me.
Today I got ready to go out just to find out that no one was coming to pick me up.
Today I am disappointed.
What will tomorrow bring?

MORMONS
Yikes, there were loud knocks on the door so I went down to check.
We don't lock our screen door so the minute I opened the door, I saw 2 guys in white shirts and black pants, holding the screen door open.
My first thought: S***, I've been discovered.
They said: Do you have 2 minutes to spare to listen to us?
My second thought: Okay, why not?
They then welcomed themselves into my home. OMYGOSH KILL ME NOW I THOUGHT THEY WERE GOING TO TALK TO ME FROM OUTSIDE.
No, I was not going to slam the door into their faces.
They asked: Whats your name?
I said: Nadia
They said: Wow, thats a wonderful name.
They asked: Do you have any religious background at all?
I said: Yeah, Im Muslim.
They said: Excellent!
Blah blah blah, the works of Jesus Christ being carried out by a living prophet, blah blah blah, native americans, blah blah blah, im from sydney hes from arizona, blah blah blah, no i was not brainwashed...i went in search of the truth on my own (Chill, i never said u were brainwashed...defensive much?) here's a free book for you, blah blah blah, can I just say a quick prayer?
I said: Yeah, go ahead.
And then he went on to say a prayer for me. Lol, I thought they were going to pray for themselves. He said may I be blessed for letting them into my house and that I read their book.
I dont know what I should have done? Maybe I should have just said No when they asked if I had time to spare but err, my mouth works on auto mode. I didnt think.
They were real nice and polite though. No, I'm not going to read The Book Of Mormon. I have no time ): I need to read my Quran.
Do you think it would work if Muslims went on a recruiting drive like this?
ps. Where is my stove + oven? Retravision, you lied to me.

Surat Al-Kahf (The Cave) - سورة الكهف

Muhsin Khan
: Musa (Moses) said to him (Khidr) "May I follow you so that you teach me something of that knowledge (guidance and true path) which you have been taught (by Allah)?"
Muhsin Khan
: He (Khidr) said: "Verily! You will not be able to have patience with me!
Muhsin Khan
: "And how can you have patience about a thing which you know not?"
Muhsin Khan
: Musa (Moses) said: "If Allah will, you will find me patient, and I will not disobey you in aught."
Muhsin Khan
: He (Khidr) said: "Then, if you follow me, ask me not about anything till I myself mention it to you."
Muhsin Khan
: So they both proceeded, till, when they embarked the ship, he (Khidr) scuttled it. Musa (Moses) said: "Have you scuttled it in order to drown its people? Verily, you have committed a thing "Imra" (a Munkar - evil, bad, dreadful thing)."
Muhsin Khan
: He (Khidr) said: "Did I not tell you, that you would not be able to have patience with me?"
Muhsin Khan
: [Musa (Moses)] said: "Call me not to account for what I forgot, and be not hard upon me for my affair (with you)."
Muhsin Khan
: Then they both proceeded, till they met a boy, he (Khidr) killed him. Musa (Moses) said: "Have you killed an innocent person who had killed none? Verily, you have committed a thing "Nukra" (a great Munkar - prohibited, evil, dreadful thing)!"
Muhsin Khan
: (Khidr) said: "Did I not tell you that you can have no patience with me?"
Muhsin Khan
: [Musa (Moses)] said: "If I ask you anything after this, keep me not in your company, you have received an excuse from me."
Muhsin Khan
: Then they both proceeded, till, when they came to the people of a town, they asked them for food, but they refused to entertain them. Then they found therein a wall about to collapse and he (Khidr) set it up straight. [Musa (Moses)] said: If you had wished, surely, you could have taken wages for it!"
Muhsin Khan
: (Khidr) said: "This is the parting between me and you, I will tell you the interpretation of (those) things over which you were unable to hold patience.
Muhsin Khan
: "As for the ship, it belonged to Masakin (poor people) working in the sea. So I wished to make a defective damage in it, as there was a king after them who seized every ship by force.
Muhsin Khan
: "And as for the boy, his parents were believers, and we feared lest he should oppress them by rebellion and disbelief.
Muhsin Khan
: "So we intended that their Lord should change him for them for one better in righteousness and near to mercy.
Muhsin Khan
: "And as for the wall, it belonged to two orphan boys in the town; and there was under it a treasure belonging to them; and their father was a righteous man, and your Lord intended that they should attain their age of full strength and take out their treasure as a mercy from your Lord. And I did it not of my own accord. That is the interpretation of those (things) over which you could not hold patience."So, what did you guys get out of reading this? I learnt that sometimes what we perceive to be true may not be actually be right. What we judge as a bad thing to happen to us could in fact be something good in disguise, or it happened to prevent something worst from happening.
Allah knows best (:

I think I don't feel like updating about personal life anymore because that's just one huge mess. Someone convince me otherwise? hah.
Maybe just something useful from now on for everyone.
See y'all when I learn something new that I can share.
XOXO (to the girl readers).

I want to make cheesecake.
So I woke up this morning to wait for the arrival of the carpenter so he can fix our pergola. The carpenter called me yesterday and today at 9am to remind me that he was coming at 10am. I was impressed. I thought, this is one efficient dude.
He came, I opened the door. He looked shocked at my hijab+jumper+PJ combo. I've got the most colorful PJs you can ever imagine. Obviously, the colors didnt go down very well with him.
So he drilled and he hammered, causing the airconditioning panel in my room to fall off. Excellent job mate. After a long period of silence, I decided to check on his progress. The carpenter had disappeared. He fixed the wooden planks and left. He didnt even tell me he was leaving. He also left a mess of wooden splinters everywhere.
Not so efficient after all. I have no idea when he is coming next but hey, Alhamdulillah my 1/2 pergola is now 3/4 pergola (:
Then I went to uni for histo classes.
Oh, my oven and stove are still not replaced. After a barrage of emails, and a few calls, still no progress. Seriously, it's been 3 months since we first informed our agent for the need to replace our non functioning oven and our black smoke producing stove.
Doesn't ANYBODY work around here??!!
Cheesecake in the near future, inshaAllah. Chilled, not baked.
This is what my brother and I made last time I was home. Kiwi Lemon cheese cake. I know, we're cool like that. LOL
